Please Note:
As from January 1st 2009, the use of a catapult for feeding groundbait is no longer allowed on any of the 3 lakes.
Catapults may be used for loose feeding of maggots and casters, pellets, corn, etc.
The use of a big waggler is still allowed but feeding of ground bait must be by hand only.
PVA pellet tea bags are also prohibited.
39 pairs (78 anglers) booked on for the first qualifier of the AT Maver Pairs. The conditions couldn't have been worse with severe winds lashing the complex. All that being said, the weights recorded were simply outstanding.
Over 6456lbs of fish found their way to the scales. The average was just over 90lb per angler.
As the Match, Arena and Speci lake were used, the pools on the day were divided between both lakes.
Match / Arena Lake
Winner of the Match / Arena lakes was Adam Richards who drew peg 35 on the Arena landing a massive 287-15-0 of carp on meat.
Second placed Andrew Murphy (Wales) also drew Arena peg 22 to land 216-15-0 on pellet.
Third placed Calum Dix (Daiwa Dorking) weighing a massive 201-12-0 and fourth placed Danny Bache weighing 197-15-0 from Arena peg 29.

Specimen Lake
The winner on the Speci lake was Danny Baker (Wales) who drew peg 66 on the chalet bank landing fish to 18lbs on pole and meat plus specimen down the side. His match winning performance was enough to put him and his partner into the final.
2nd placed Mark Taylor (Shakespeare) had a slow start but found specimen carp to 18lbs on pole and meat at 6m. Mark drew peg 12 on the burr.
3rd placed Paul (Tommy) Hillier (Daiwa Dorking) drew peg 74 on the chalet bank to land 111-9-0 of carp and bream on 6m.
4th placed Ian Giddins (Maver) found a late run of big carp to pole and worm fished short for a total of 110-0-0.
