

Please Note:
As from January 1st 2009, the use of a catapult for feeding groundbait is no longer allowed on any of the 3 lakes.
Catapults may be used for loose feeding of maggots and casters, pellets, corn, etc.
The use of a big waggler is still allowed but feeding of ground bait must be by hand only.
PVA pellet tea bags are also prohibited.




The Bank Holiday Open saw 25 anglers attend on the Specimen Lake. Conditions were interchangeable with periods of cold winds and torrential downpours one moment followed by dry and bright spells the other. The water temperature felt quite cool.
Ray Lamb finished in 1st place with an impressive 137-12-00 fishing with luncheon meat down the inside line and caught Carp up to 15lb.
Second on the day was Shakespeare-backed Neil McKinnon with 114-13-00 caught on luncheon meat using a short pole approach. Neil also took Carp up to 15lb.
Third was Maver (Barnsley Blacks) ace Andy Kinder with 109-02-00 taken on banded 8mm pellet fished "bomb" style and luncheon meat & sweetcorn fished down in the margins.
4th place saw Steve Mayo (Maver) finish with 101-09-00.
Rob Cooksey took 5th with 92-05-00.
