Thirty one anglers attended this latest classic qualifier on the Match lake. A freezing cold wind lashed the complex for the duration of the day making conditions very difficult. Despite this, however, the fishing was, once again, first class!
Winner on the day was Maver's own Jamie Hughes. Fishing from peg 20 with pole and pellet at 14.5m, he put together a fine winning weight of 127-06-00 to qualify for the May final in style.
Finishing close behind in second place was Matt Smith, who drew peg 30. Fishing pole and pellet at 14.5m and then, later, switching to the margins, Matt weighed in a total of 123-10-00, also booking his place in the final.
Third on the day was Neil Cotton, who drew peg 14. Neil opted to fish the method feeder to weigh 106-04-00.
Fourth placed Martin Churchill weighed in 97-09-00 from peg 12.
