

Please Note:
As from January 1st 2009, the use of a catapult for feeding groundbait is no longer allowed on any of the 3 lakes.
Catapults may be used for loose feeding of maggots and casters, pellets, corn, etc.
The use of a big waggler is still allowed but feeding of ground bait must be by hand only.
PVA pellet tea bags are also prohibited.




Thirty anglers braved the arctic conditions. Minus 7°C, bright sunshine and a bitterly cold wind made for very difficult conditions.
Winner on the day was Rob Wiltshire (Cumbran Nobblers), who drew peg 78 on the chalet bank landing bream and carp to pole and caster fished at 13m. Rob landed carp to 9lbs plus good bream for his winning weight of 56-08-00, plus a place in the May final.
Second on the day was Brian Clark (Marukyu / Vespe), who drew peg 68 on the chalet bank. Brian fished a small open end feeder with maggot and caster landing 30lb of bream and two carp for 49-09-00.
Third on the day was Lee Edwards (Preston Innovations), who drew peg 70 landing bream and carp for a total of 36-03-00. Lee caught all his fish on the pole fished at 14m with maggot and caster hook baits.
Fourth placed Jamie Read landed 35-07-00 of carp and bream on pole fished pellet and caster at 13m from peg 6 on the burr bank to secure his section.
